Kaku Nakhate is the President and Country Head (India) of Bank of America N.A. She is also a member of the Asia Pacific Executive Committee.

Kaku has extensive industry knowledge and markets expertise with over two decades of experience in the Indian financial markets. She is responsible for building a market-leading franchise in India, overseeing the strategy and direction. In this role, Kaku leverages her international experience, having interacted with many major Corporates and Financial Institutions and several of the top financial investors across major markets, on enhancing existing client relationships, developing new clients and building business opportunities for the firm.

Before assuming her current position in June 2010, Kaku was vice chairperson of JP Morgan, India, in charge of equities, WSS (India) and strategy. Prior to JP Morgan, Kaku worked with DSP Merrill Lynch for 20 years. During her tenure at DSPML, she has held several senior positions in the company; the most recent was head of Global Markets. She also led the India Operating Committee at DSPML.

Kaku is a member of the National Executive Board of AMCHAM, India (American Chamber of Commerce). She is also a member of various other industry bodies in the country. Kaku has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Mumbai University and holds a Masters in Management Studies (Finance) from the Mumbai University. She is married and has a son.
